ALLAH PROPHETS UNIVERSE ISLAM MUSLIMS

ALLAH THE ALL-POWERFUL CREATOR

MULIA: The existence of man and the entire universe is not a mere accident or the product of a chance. This universe and everything that is in it, manifests to the realization of an All-Powerful Creator, ALLAH, the only true God.

AKHTAR: Indeed, Allah has told us about Himself through the divine guidance He sent to human beings through the Prophets who were chosen by Allah to convey His message to human being and to be living examples (the Prophets) for their people. All these Prophets (313 in total) brought the same message, monotheism: the worship of Allah alone. However, they differed only in the canonical teaching (law) that were presented to their respective peoples.

FAEZ: However earlier messages were lost or distorted by later generations, except Al-Quran. In the al-Quran we are able to find special references are made to the books of Abraham (Suhuf), to the Torah (Law) of Moses, the zabur (Psalms) of David and the Injeel (Gospel) of Jesus.

TEGUH: Al-Quran propagates Islam, which is an Arabic word that denotes submission and obedience. As a religion, Islam stands for totally complete submission and obedience to Allah only, nobody else. Islam totally rejects the concept of polytheism and idolatry. It emphasizes a direct relationship with Allah avoiding any kind of intermediary or partner.

FAEZ: Islam teaches that anyone who accepts some Prophets and rejects others is, in fact, reject them all. The Jews accept Moses and reject Jesus & Muhammad. The Christians accept Moses & Jesus but reject Muhammad. On the contrary, Muslims accept all the Prophets inclusive of Moses / Jesus / Muhammad (saw), may peace and blessing of Allah be upon them all .

MULIA: Every Prophet was sent to a specific nation (mostly Israel) but Prophet Muhammad (saw) was sent for all man-kind. The Biblical versions clearly mention the advent of Prophet Muhammad (saw). Refer to Deut. 18: 15 and 18, 33: 2-3; Isaiah 29: 12; Songs of Solomon 5: 16; John 14: 15-16 and John 16: 12-14.

AKHTAR: The Muslim believes in the existence of angels as part of the unseen world. Angels are beings whose nature requires no food, drink or sleep. They carry out specific duties assigned to them by Allah.

TEGUH: A Muslim believes that whatever happens in this world is ordered and predestinated by Allah. So whatever He orders has a meaningful purpose although at times we may fail to understand it fully.

FAEZ: A Muslim also believes in the Day of Judgement. Through belief in Allah and in the Day of Judgement, Islam firmly implants in man’s heart a consciousness of Allah’s presence impelling man to obey Him sincerely without any external human pressure.

MULIA: There is no discrimination in Islam between people on the basis of colour, tribe, race, nationality etc. Since all humans descend from one father and one mother : Adam and Eve. So why UM-- ulamaks cursing non-Muslims give short acknowledgement (nor sermon or ceramah, mind you..) in surau?

TEGUH: One should not regard Islam as an innovation that came with the advent of Prophet Muhammad (saw) but as the basic mission of all messengers throughout history.

AKHTAR: Islam is not a new religion. It is, in essence, the same message and guidance which Allah revealed to all His prophets/messengers but only re-expressed in its comprehensive, complete and final form. It is a continuation and culmination of all the preceeding messages because their origin is one and the same i.e. Allah.

FAEZ: Now, Allah has shown us the right path. May the light of truth shine in our hearts and minds. May it lead to peace and certitude in this life and eternal bliss in the Hereafter. Amin!
