JINN

JINN AND HUMAN SICKNESS

TEGUH: The subject of the jinn is of interest to many people. Belief in the world of the Unseen (e.g. jinn) is an important part of Islamic belief. The Muslim is required to believe firmly, with no shadow of any doubt, in the existence of the jinn. The jinn are mentioned in more than forty verses of the Quran, which are included in ten Surah, and there is an entire Surah which is named after them i.e. Suurahtul-Jin. Among the jinn there are Muslims, and kafir.

AKHTAR: The teachings of the Quran and Sunnah show that although the jinn have some ability to affect humans, it is not as great as many people think. The jinn were created from fire before man was created. They eat, get married and produce off spring. The jinn are hidden creatures who can see us but we cannot see them. But humans may see them in certain cases when they take on other forms and appear in the form of some animals such as snakes, cats and dogs. The jinn also have the ability to move from one place to another with amazing speed and dive into the depths of the ocean.

FAEZ: Jinn have light bodies and able to enter human bodies with no difficulty at all. Like air which can enter our bodies, or fire which runs through coals, or electricity which runs through wires.

MULIA: Some jinn who can overpower humans and make them (human beings) hear voices and see things, and feel that someone is following them and make them scared inside their own homes.
AKHTAR: The jinn may cause many different types of problems, e.g. (1) certain physical sickness which modern medicine unable to treat; (2) hallucinations that make a person see things other than they really are, such as a wife see her husband as ugly and off-putting; (3) stirring up hatred between people; (4) certain female diseases such as unusual infertility, heavy bleeding and menstrual irregularities; and (5) sexual problems.

FAEZ: Remember, Allah does not send down any disease but He also sends down a cure for it. Treating sickness by means of the noble Quran is real and is only denied by those who are ignorant. There are some diseases that have no other remedy except the Quran. The healing of the Quran offers both spiritual and physical.

TEGUH: The jinn have some powers over men, such as tampering with their houses by setting them on fire, and throwing furniture and household contents.
